Nestled near Pineville, Kentucky and nearby Clear Creek Baptist Bible College lies Clear Creek Hollow Trail AKA “Clear Creek Fitness Trail”. The trailhead located near the Bible College is .4 mi. one way and is ranked easy in difficulty.
This trail takes you back in time by following the route of the former but now abandoned L&N (Louisville & Nashville) railway grade. This old railway route is formerly a spur off the L&N.
NOTE: IF you take the pathway that I recommend further down in the article, then you will eventually come to a sign that reads “private property”. However, there is not a “no trespassing sign” and this is just marking the boundary. You can still continue your journey, the sign is just a bit misleading.

So, I found it to be a bit confusing when I went searching for the trailhead. I ended up driving to two different locations before I just pinned where I thought the trailhead would be on Google Maps.

Conclusion
If you are near Pineville, Kentucky and have interest in abandoned/former railway lines or are even just looking for a peaceful hike away then this is the perfect place. When I visited through the week there were maybe only 4 others on the trail at the same time that I was.
Have you ever visited this trail? I would love to know your experiences with it or if you know any more history of the place.

You ve given me the urge to travel
Very good post. Highly informative for travellers. Keep up the good work.
The other part of this trail is right across the road. It has three bridges , a railroad cut and blockhouses at the end. Here is a link to a video on my You tube channel that shows that part of the trail https://youtu.be/iaGGKlCv4LA
